Ruthless Chelsea board not in-sync with Frank Lampard, who has ‘strained relationship’ with Cech

Chelsea sacked Frank Lampard just one week ago, and already we have seen multiple stories reporting what had gone on behind the scenes.

The latest one from The Telegraph is really quite eye-opening, and proves that Frank Lampard was backed, but not entirely from the Chelsea board.

Remember that time when Chelsea tried to sign Peter Crouch? No really, it happened. Throwback to a very bizarre January transfer window in 2018 for Chelsea HERE!

First of all, it even claims that Director Marina Granovskaia didn’t even want to hire Frank Lampard in 2019, she wanted someone more experienced, and Thomas Tuchel has now been her decision.

But in terms of backing Lampard, the board did that with a few of his signings in the shape of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, and Ben Chilwell. Kai Havertz though, was a board signing.

In terms of a squad clear out, this is where Granovskaia refused to be in sync with Lampard. He wanted to move on some of the more experienced players such as Antonio Rudiger, Marcos Alonso, and Jorginho – But Granovskaia said no.

The sacking has also left a ‘strained relationship’ between Lampard and Petr Cech which to be honest, is just painfully sad to see.
