Joao Felix returns to Atletico squad with week to prepare for Chelsea game

Joao Felix has tested negative for coronavirus and has returned to training with Atletico Madrid, a week ahead of their game with Chelsea.

Belen Sanchez of La Sexta in Spain reported the news that Felix is also back in the squad for tomorrow’s game in La Liga against Levante.

We would expect the Portuguese to play an hour or so in that one to get some minutes in his legs, and he’ll then be in perfect shape to face us.

It’s bad new for the Blues, who will see one of the outstanding players in the Spanish league back and ready to take them on in the Champions League first leg in Madrid.

This Atleti team are solid from front to back, and we’ll need more than just a few missing players to beat them. The return of our own injured starts – like Thiago Silva – could prove equally influential in deciding the result.
