Granovskaia ‘fought for the return’ of former Chelsea boss, Abramovich ‘stopped everything’

Make sure you do not have a hot coffee in your hands before reading this one.

Chelsea chief Marina Granovskaia ‘fought’ to get former Blues boss Maurizio Sarri back to Chelsea after they sacked Frank Lampard recently, according to Italian reporter Ciro Venerato talking via Rai Sport (as cited by Sport Witness).

Chelsea are in for Erling Haaland this summer, find out more here.

Not only that, but Sarri allegedly wanted to return and was keen on the idea, but it had to be ‘stopped’ and vetoed by Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich to stop it happening, allegedly.

Now the key word here is ‘allegedly.’

Venerato was quoted saying:

“Chelsea, after having dismissed Lampard, wanted the coach back,” Venerato told RAI Sport, relayed by Area Napoli.

“Marina Granovskaia, in particular, fought for the return of the coach. Sarri had said yes to Chelsea.

“However, Roman Abramovich stopped everything. Sarri’s wife and son are pushing for Maurizio’s return to Naples.”

Personally, I don’t believe these claims in the slightest. But that is my humble opinion.

Sarri chose to leave Chelsea, I can be very sure that he would not then chose to come back so soon, or ever for that matter.

No other report mentioned Sarri as an option. Next!
