BBC poll gives Ampadu top marks for another classy showing

Sheffield United won again tonight in the Premier League to continue their impressive rise up the table, and central to their good performance was Chelsea loanee Ethan Ampadu.

The Blades’ gradual return to form has coincided with his establishing himself as a regular for the Blades, and he was on form tonight as they beat West Brom 2-1.

The BBC’s player ratings poll after the game had him down as a 7.44 as he and the rest of Chris Wilder’s back line helped their team earn 3 points.

Conor Gallagher, playing for the other team, wasn’t so lucky. He emerged from the bench only late on, as his drop in importance under new boss Sam Allardyce continued.

After a wasted season in Germany last year, Ethan is finally playing the games he needs to and showing how good he can be. We hope the rest of the season sees more good results for him and his team.
