Chelsea beat Fulham today in a tight game, but those last few minutes would have been a lot more comfortable if Timo Werner had scored his one on one late on.
He hit it wide, continuing his run of low confidence efforts. After the game Frank Lampard was asked about the striker, and he spoke in very certain terms about how his summer signing can improve.
“He has to just week working, it’s the only way out of it,” the gaffer explained. He said he’d played with many strikers in the same situation, and the way out way the same for all of them.
You can see the manager speaking in the clip embedded here from Sky Sports:
🗣"Those are goals I have seen him score, that is his bread & butter.”
– Frank Lampard is not concerned about Timo Werner's #Chelsea goal drought in the Premier League.
