Frank Lampard has just had his press conference ahead of Chelsea’s game with Luton at the weekend, but there is a lot more at stake than an FA Cup fourth round game.
Lampard is under immense pressure, and it showed in some of his answers today. He even specifically called out the Athletic’s Liam Twomey for his articles in recent weeks, saying they weren’t “objective” enough in their criticism, or generous enough in their praise.
We sympathise with Frank here – the Athletic publishing a piece claiming to have inside information about dressing room issues, right at the final whistle of a loss, is pretty low grade journalism, and calls into question whether they’re really using their sources, or just trying to jump the gun for clicks.
