Sordid rumours have been spreading ever since Frank Lampard’s sacking about which players might have kicked up a fuss behind the scenes to contribute to their boss getting the boot.
We have no idea if any of them actually did, but the first wash of whispers were that Antonio Rudiger was causing trouble, and had clashed with club captain Cesar Azpilicueta.
There were further even more crazy allegations that Rudiger had “bullied” younger players. It had clearly gone too far, and Tammy Abraham and Azpilicueta have spoken up on social media to deny the rumours.
You can see Tammy’s Twitter post here:
Hearing some mad stuff about @ToniRuediger on social media today. Compete nonsense. Toni is a big bro to all of us

Azpi then quote Tweeted it and added an image that speaks a thousand words.

The Telegraph’s Matt Law, who gave the initial scoop, may now have some questions to answer – not least from the players who have been smeared by his story.
On the other hand, this could just be a co-ordinated PR campaign to get things back in order after a toxic week.
Thats so bad for people to share around rumours
