Ruben Loftus-Cheek has had an interesting career so far, and it feels like it could really go either way.
Either his injury problems will continue, he won’t get a chance to play at Chelsea, and he will end up being one of those “what if” players, or he’ll finally play a couple of seasons in a row regularly and fulfil his potential.
There was no doubting where his breakthrough was – under Maurizio Sarri two years ago, where he finally established himself as a real option for Chelsea. He was our best player in that season, and it’s not surprising that he looks back on it fondly.
In quotes picked up by Paul Brown of the Daily Star, RLC named Sarri as his most influential manager, for telling him what he needed to go to get into the team.
He’s looked better in recent weeks at Fulham. Let’s hope he can continue on the right track.
