Report: Chelsea might need to wait until next summer to sign elite striker

Yesterday the internet almost broke when news surfaced of Chelsea’s alleged intent to sign one of the worlds best strikers.

Reported by The Athletic, Chelsea are willing to beak the clubs record to sign Erling Haaland from Dortmund this coming summer, making him a primary target.

Chelsea are also looking to sign a top class new centre back this summer, find out who is on the shortlist HERE!

Chelsea fancy themselves in the race to sign the 20-year old forward, due to being one of the few clubs still doing well financially in the midst of a pandemic.

However, they may need to wait until the following summer if they are to secure the signing of Haaland, according to Jan Aage Fjortoft, who often reports on these big deals.

He makes a bold statement in saying there is ‘no chance’ that Haaland will leave Dortmund this summer.

Although I am not so sure this is as unanimous as he says, and Haaland’s release clause comes unto operation next summer, so the club may wish to try and start a bidding war before then to maximise the value of the sale.

We shall see.
