No offers for left back as Chelsea face rest of the season with deadwood

Chelsea started this season with three first team left backs, and unless something changes drastically in the latter end of the January transfer window, they may well be finishing the season with three first team left backs.

Ben Chilwell and Emerson Palmieri are Frank Lampard’s top two choices, in that order. Then there is Marcos Alonso, who doesn’t even get a place on the bench these days.

You’d fully expect him to be out of the door by now, with Lampard’s squad already inflated and impossible to keep happy. One left back needs to go, but according to The Athletic, there have not been any offers for the Spaniard as of yet, not even on loan.

Chelsea want a permanent transfer allegedly, but nobody is willing to meet his valuation, or wants to pay his wages. Perhaps this is no surprise, Alonso is not a player who is growing in value especially when he isn’t even playing. Not ideal at all.
