Mason Mount only turned 22 a week ago, and today he captains Chelsea for the first time.
That makes him the youngest captain for the club since John Terry, almost 20 years ago in 2002.
It’s well deserved – Mason has been at the club since he was 6, always gives his all, and is our best performer this season, even through our recent dire run.
Let’s hope he can cap it all off with a good showing against Luton, who are a better team than they sound. A win today won’t change much, but a loss would be devastating. If we trust anyone to lead us through a tricky game like this, we trust Mason. Thiago Silva and Azpi can relax and take a week off, the armband is in good hands.
