“We have hardly had any time to train together” – Tammy Abraham explains how Chelsea’s season can turn around

Tammy Abraham was a newbie in the Chelsea squad not long ago, but he’s now settled in to life in the Premier League, and as a regular starter for his boyhood club.

On the club’s official website they had an interview with the striker about the team’s recent issues.

He pointed to the new signings at the club and urged for time to help them settle before. As Tammy points out, the crazy schedule this season and the injuries and coronavirus absences we’ve had has seriously limited time on the training pitch, meaning the new faces are still just getting used to their new club, and their new teammates.

“We have hardly had any time to train together and to work out how each other play so we’re just taking every day as it comes at the moment,” Abraham explained.

“Every game we play, we’re learning new things about each other. I’m starting to understand them more and they’re starting to understand me more so hopefully we drive each other and be the best we can be,” he continued.

As much as it sounds like an excuse, there’s a lot of truth to what he says. Even the players who were here last season – like Abraham, Reece James and Mason Mount – are still relatively new to the Premier League, and the lack of training is slowing the integration process hugely.

We hope the manager is given enough time to really see the new signings gel with the impressive foundations he’s built.
