Fikayo Tomori to Ac Milan: Serie A side pushing for option to buy

So far Chelsea’s January transfer window has largely been about the next move for defender Fikayo Tomori.

There have been various stories published on this over the last couple of days, and the unanimous conclusion is that AC Milan are negotiating a loan deal with Chelsea to sign Tomori, but the Serie A side want to include an option to buy in the deal, and it is unclear whether Chelsea are willing to accept this, as per reports from strong sources The Telegraph, and The Athletic this morning.

However, from Frank Lampard’s comments on Tomori yesterday, it looks like he is under the impression that there will be no option to buy if Chelsea allow the centre back to leave this window.

The whole situation is very odd, including the fact that Tomori has dropped so far down the pecking order.

For what it is worth, I do not believe Chelsea will let him leave on loan with an option, only a loan.
