Fikayo Tomori’s loan to AC Milan is “very close” according to the Italian club’s technical director Paulo Maldini.
The defender has barely featured at Chelsea this season after withdrawing from a deadline day move to West Ham, and it’s the right move to get him out playing somewhere.
Simon Johnson of the Athletic had the quotes from Maldini, who said that a deal is “very close,” but reminded everyone that “it could all break down with just one detail.”
AC Milan technical director Paulo Maldini says a loan deal for #CFC defender Fikayo Tomori is near to completion but not quite finalised yet: "It's very close, we're in between confirming his signing and not signing him at all, it could all break down with just one detail.”

It looks a tough ask to break into the first team of the Rossoneri who are currently battling for the Serie A title, but we love the idea of it.
Plenty of Blues fans will be disappointed to see the academy product go – especially if there’s a purchase option included in the deal. Most fans still rate Tomori highly and want to see him given more chances in the first team.
But after a bright start last season he fell out of favour, and the road back to Frank Lampard’s thoughts looks a long one now.
This is a big gamble for Fik, but we back him all the way to make a success of it.
