The Chelsea player Thomas Tuchel has waited ‘many years’ to work with

Chelsea welcomed former Dortmund and PSG master tactician Thomas Tuchel to Stamford Bridge for the first time last night, after confirming his appointment late on Tuesday.

He looked like he thoroughly enjoyed his first time in the Chelsea dugout, despite not managing to break down a very stubborn and deep Wolves defence.

The German looks like he is going to be quite the entertaining character, and will be surprising people with his flexible and innovative formations and tactics.

One player who he didn’t get to pick yet is the injured N’Golo Kante, which he is especially looking forward to doing.

The French world cup winner is a player that Tuchel has been waiting ‘many years’ to work with, with Kante actually having been linked to PSG a number of times when Tuchel was in charge there.

The new Chelsea boss was speaking about it and his admiration for Kante after the game last night, as reported by The Daily Mirror.

“The funny thing is when you join a team in the middle of the season, I already know the likes of Kai [Havertz], Timo [Werner], Toni [Rudiger],’ Tuchel said.

“I wanted many years to have N’Golo Kante in my team and now I have him here, also Olivier Giroud, we have a clear picture.

“I have been following the Premier League for many years both in Dortmund and in Paris so I have a clear picture of what the guys are capable of. To find a guy like [Cesar] Azpilicueta in your office is simply amazing because in the end I am also a fan of football.”
