Chelsea are putting in a pedestrian performance against Leicester, and they look like they’re heading for a nasty defeat.
The Foxes were too smart, too quick, too incisive and too solid in defence for Chelsea to make too much of a mark on. Frank Lampard will leave the King Power tonight with a lot of question marks and a lot of very genuine questions about his job hanging over him.
On social media patience with the inexperienced manager has long been short, but today it reached new lows, with bitter outpourings on all fronts.
There are some who will never give up, but increasingly the tide is turning against the club legend it seems.
This was not the right game to judge a team on – Leicester are very good. But taken as part of a longer run it doesn’t look good, and despite a few bright moments today we were far from the level required.
You can see a selection of the reaction here:
Timo Werner now has the most offside goals in the squad (5) as well as the most woodwork hits (5).
He deserves more, and will get more when those small margins go in his favour. Patience. pic.twitter.com/xQvP30UDQ5

That goal could've been huge, definitely would've gave us some hope.
All hope was destroyed by VAR.

Frank Lampard is our greatest ever player, and will always be one of us. More than a legend.
Nothing will ever change that. pic.twitter.com/Ri4Q84R298

'Fine margins' is not an excuse for this pathetic performance. We don't deserve to get anything from this game.

Just doesn’t feel like a team. And hasn’t for a good while.

HOW IS HE BRINGING OFF HUDSON-ODOI?!?!??!!?!??!

I won’t forget how much Mason Mount cared, and fought during this tough period.
Demanding more from teammates, always doing everything he can to drag the team forward. We’re lucky to have him. I wish more players had his mentality. pic.twitter.com/sobE0wjBcr

Can someone please explain how Rudiger was surplus to requirements in the summer, yet now he's starting games over Zouma, who was quite clearly our best CB last season and has done well this season?
Make it make sense…

Terrible night for Chelsea. Things didn't go their way but I don't think this defeat was about margins. It was about awful defending and tepid attacking. They must improve quickly and individuals need to step up.

Watch him on the goal. Not only does he defend really badly, he also pushed over and fouls Vardy off the ball and in the box. If Maddison doesn't score then it's a penalty to Leicester.
What an idiot.

Rodgers wins his first game as coach against #CFC. Losing is never good but the manner of the defeats paint a more telling picture. #LEICHE

Lampard is a great guy, has done alot for CFC, I don’t want any problem, I don’t want any heartache, he should just walk away, otherwise the club is guilty of double standard…
#lampard out##Alegri In#
With Lampard as #CFC coach, we are going no where.. He looks confuse, makes wrong selection and substitution… He is lacking confidence as a coach. So how do you expect the player to have confidence…. Chelsea need a coach and not a couch
Lampard is a great guy, he’s done well as a player here, but I font want any more heartache, I don’t want any more trouble, he should just leave for Alegri to come in, otherwise, CFC is guilty of double standard…
# Lampard Out# Alegri In# otherwise relegation #with Lampard around…
I always said it lampard is not the right man to take Chelsea forward d earlier he is sacked d better for cfc
he was ok before his wife got pregnant, she wants him home with her.
