Chelsea have been named as one of the main clubs who will be pursuing world class striker Erling Haaland from Dortmund this summer.
It is expected to heat up as one of the biggest transfer races of modern time, but due to Chelsea being one of the few clubs still well off financially through the global pandemic, their pursuit for Haaland is certainly real.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed this on The Si Phillips Talks Chelsea Podcast today.
“For sure Chelsea are one of the teams interested in Haaland,” Romano confirmed.
“But it will be a long and hard race, many clubs are involved.”
Romano believes Chelsea, or any club that are involved in the race will have to wait until summer of 2022, this is because no club will pay the £100 million plus that it will take to prise him away from Dortmund this summer.
His release clause of 75 million euros comes into affect from 2022, and that is when Romano believes we will see him moves clubs.
So Chelsea are involved for sure, but we may have to wait a bit longer to see the conclusion.
