Billy Gilmour has been out injured for a long time now, and given the excitement around him when he made his starts back in the spring, it’s no surprise that there are plenty keen to see him return.
Frank Lampard was asked about a potential return in the press conference today, and while he didn’t want to lay out his plans precisely, he pointed out that there is a Champions League game next week, one with nothing riding on it.
That’s about as clear an admission that you’re going to get that Billy will get his first start in that game.
