Reece James’ superb stats show why he can walk away from defeat with head held high

Chelsea have just lost to Everton at Goodison Park, and there were very few impressive performances from the starting team.

They all looked a little tired and passive, and we actually generated very few chances at all in the end.

The one man creating danger throughout the game was actually a defender. Reece James was a constant menace down Chelsea’s right flank, and he swung in countless crosses without a Blue shirt managing to get on the end of them.

You can see his stats from the game in the Tweet embedded here:

In defence too, James was a great contributor, and as the game got more stretched he was always motoring back to cover gaps as they opened up.

He won’t be on the losing side in many games where he plays that well, and he can hold his head up as the team take the bleak trip back down the motorway to London.
