Frank Lampard is giving his press conference ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League match with Sevilla tomorrow, and he declared that he had a fully fit squad.
Asked to expand further on whether this mean young Billy Gilmour is back, Lampard confirmed that the midfielder is now ready to go, if perhaps lacking a few match minutes to get truly up to speed.
Lampard on Billy Gilmour: "He is fit now and he could probably do with some more match minutes which are hard to get in covid times with the bubbles. He is in the squad tomorrow." #CFC #UCL

Even better than that, the manger hinted that he wanted to give the young Scot some minutes over the two Champions League games, tomorrow night and next week. Now that really would be a boost.
It adds a new body to the squad just when it needs it most, and in a position we don’t have many natural fits in. N’Golo Kante can be rested a lot more easily knowing that Gilmour is ready to step in.
It will be a long road back to where he was in the spring, competing to be a regular starter, but he’s taking his first steps now. We could be seeing him back in action sooner than expected.
