ESPN: Chelsea will listen to offers for two first team centre backs in January

Frank Lampard currently has five first team centre backs at his disposal, and it is becoming an issue keeping them all happy.

Kurt Zouma and Thiago Silva have established themselves as the main pairing at the heart of the defence, with Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger, and Fikayo Tomori having to make do with bit-part roles, if anything at all.

It is the latter two who Chelsea are willing to let go of in January, although the report is unclear whether they will let one go, or both.

ESPN reports that Chelsea will listen to offers for Tomori and Rudiger this January, as Lampard is looking to trim his numbers down in that position.

Tomori could go on loan with his current long-term contract, but Rudiger you’d imagine would need to be sold at this stage with a shorter contract – unless he signed an extension before he left on loan.

But it does seem inevitable that at least one centre back will be leaving Stamford Bridge this winter.
