Timo Werner’s crazy Champions League stats after latest goals

Timo Werner won Chelsea’s penalty tonight, then took and scored it.

A player can’t assist themselves, but even without that extra assist, the German’s Champions League stats are simply frightening.

The BBC’s Match of the Day account Tweeted that the striker has 12 goal contributions in his last 14 games in the Champions League.

Of those, seven have come in the last seven games.

His finishing is crisp, he’s got the pace to run in behind, and his acceleration means he can win penalties from nothing – as he did tonight.

All in all, it’s a recipe for goals, and Timo is really cooking now. Plenty of those goal contributions were from his time at RB Leipzig. Just imagine what he can do if this Chelsea team fulfil their potential and start going deep in Europe ever season.

The best part? There’s still plenty of time in tonight’s game for him to add to that crazy total.

UPDATE: He now has a second goal!
