Thiago Silva plays 90 for Brazil, reduces chances of starting for Chelsea Saturday

The international break is almost over once again and players will soon be concentrating on their domestic leagues.

It will be a relief for Chelsea to get all their players back injury-free, with only a slight worry about Ben Chilwell so far.

Thiago Silva has been one of Chelsea’s signings of the season so far, and he was in action for Brazil again last night.

The veteran centre back played the full match and helped his side beat local rivals Uruguay 2-0.

It was great to see that Silva came through unscathed, and he also put in another solid performance at the back.

But playing 90 late last night will certainly reduce his chances of starting for Chelsea against Newcastle on Saturday, as Frank Lampard has talked about managing his game time previously.

The Blues boss will now have to chose between Antonio Rudiger, Fikayo Tomori, and Andreas Christensen to partner Kurt Zouma this Saturday if Silva does not play.

Rudiger didn’t feature for Germany due to being suspended, so we could see him start again as has been the case recently.
