“I see Chelsea as a title contender” – Former Chelsea hero says Blues are in the race

It is certainly becoming quite hard to ignore the fact that as it stands, Chelsea can certainly be classed as being in the Premier League title race.

After a fine run of solid form from Frank Lampard’s side, they have firmly placed themselves up there after 9 games, currently sitting just 2 points off top spot.

Many had them written off before the season started once again, but although Lampard will be doing everything he can to talk things down, his Chelsea side are up there.

Pundits and players are starting to talk about Chelsea being contenders, and former Chelsea hero Cesc Fabregas is the latest to mention them as being in the race.

The Monaco midfielder was speaking to Absolute Chelsea, and admitted that he now sees his former club as contenders after making some good signings this summer.

He said:

“Of course I see Chelsea as a title contender [this season], the amount of quality and experience they bought this summer it couldn’t be any other way.

“They look more solid now and are winning games more comfortably than last year.”
