Report: Andreas Christensen the survivor with Fikayo Tomori likely to leave in January

Chelsea currently have five centre backs in their first team squad, and all five of them would class themselves as regular starters, but only two of them really are right now.

Kurt Zouma and Thiago Silva are the pair getting the nod in the majority of the matches, with the exception of Saturday when Antonio Rudiger started alongside Zouma with Silva needing a rest after his long-distance traveling in the week.

Rudiger looks to have staked his claim as the first backup, the second backup is Andreas Christensen, according to The Athletic.

He is still rated by Frank Lampard and is expected to get chances. The same cannot be said though about Fikayo Tomori, who appears to be bottom of the list right now.

The report believes that as a result, it is Tomori who looks likely to be leaving Chelsea on loan this January.

It was always going to be a tough mission to keep all five of them happy, and it is inevitable that one will go in the winter.
