Frank Lampard is taking his press conference ahead of the game between Chelsea and Rennes in the Champions League, and he’s taking the chance to praise a lot of his players.
He showed Tammy Abraham some serious love, and then moved on to Mason Mount.
The Blues midfielder has dropped into a more box to box role and looked superb, and his ability and willingness to run and press the opposition has been key to that.

Lampard gave him the biggest possible praise, saying that the 8 “presses as well as any midfielder I’ve worked with,” as Liam Twomey of the Athletic tweeted.
Given some of the players the gaffer has played with and coached, that’s some praise.
He’s worked with Mount for two and a half seasons now, and their work together is really paying off. The pressing is just part of that.
Mount is on course to become a truly complete midfielder, and a key cog in the team his manager is building at Stamford Bridge.
