Joe Cole thinks Callum Hudson-Odoi has already learned this skill from Timo Werner

Timo Werner had a horror miss in the early stages last night.

In fact, he’s got quite a library of horror misses building up already. But he usually gets on the scoresheet regardless, and his superb movement and speed make up for any shortfalls in finishing.

Callum Hudson-Odoi, for his part, made no mistake when he was one on one last night, and on BT Sport (quoted in the Daily Express) Joe Cole explained that he thinks the young winger is already learning from his recently arrived teammate:

“He’s taking [his chance]. What he’s doing, I feel like he’s probably looked at Werner and looked at why he scores goals. His runs in behind, he times his runs well and he’s adding that to his game.”

Werner is a master of those skills, so it’s great to imagine them rubbing off on CHO. It’s clear that the pair like playing together too, and their pace combined out wide is enough to seriously scare any opposition defence.

Perhaps Werner can learn a little from Hudson-Odoi’s finishing too?
