Frank Lampard leaves door open for key player’s surprise inclusion in the squad tomorrow

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has just delivered his press conference ahead of the Newcastle match at the weekend.

The international break is gone and wont be back again now until the new year, so it is all eyes back on domestic football.

Lampard and his squad have to contend with the early kick off on Saturday, which is far from ideal after having so many players away involved in international matches.

But he might well have one positive in the shape of Kai Havertz.

Initially it was thought that he would not be in the squad to face Newcastle on Saturday due to being in isolation after testing positive for Covid-19.

However, Lampard appeared to not rule out his inclusion today, whilst reporting that Havertz is now out of isolation and has been training again.

It depends how you read his comments, but Nizaar Kinsella of Goal appears to believe that this was Lampard saying that Havertz should be available on Saturday.
