Frank Lampard has been giving his pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s game with Newcastle, and as always, the major concern was injury updates.
In quotes Tweeted out by boss confirmed basically what we already knew: Christian Pulisic is out injured for the game. The good news is that it sounds like he’s on the road to recovery.
Lampard on fitness: "Pulisic is not fit for Newcastle but he has stepped up his training slowly. It has been quite a problematic injury, we have been cautious. Kai Havertz is back, he has started training. Thiago Silva has just landed so he probably won't go to #NUFC." #CFC

The better news is that Kai Havertz is back in training according to Lampard, meaning he’s passed a negative coronavirus test and should have a good chance of featuring at some stage, given he should be well rested.
As we suspected, Thiago Silva won’t even bother travelling to Newcastle, given how recently he returned from South America.
All in all, while it’s a shame to not have Pulisic available, the minutes played by those players who were available and on international duty are just as much of a concern. Let’s hope we make it through Saturday unscathed.
