Former Chelsea striker names the Premier League centre back they should sign

Former Chelsea striker Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink has named one player who he thinks would be an ideal player for his old club to sign.

The Blues have looked extremely solid at the back this season, but they’re relying on the elderly Thiago Silva as the rock at the back.

Eventually – perhaps even as soon as next season – they’ll need to start moving on, and while Kurt Zouma has done well alongside Silva, the other alternatives haven’t convinced.

If Chelsea to decide to go into the market, they’ve got a great option with Premier League experience right on their doorstep, according to Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink.

Leicester’s Caglar Soyuncu would be “very good at Chelsea,” JFH opined in quotes on Goal.com.

He also admitted to being a fan of Milan Skriniar at Inter, although he conceded “its a difficult position to fill at the moment.”

Chelsea have had serious trouble doing just that in recent seasons, with the signing of Antonio Rudiger not working out for them at all. A move to Soyuncu wouldn’t come cheap though – they will have to make sure they’re as certain as their former player that he’s the right man.
