Former Chelsea boss wants to sign Blues striker as priority January target

Chelsea are blessed with a very big squad this season, giving Frank Lampard a lot of different options to chose from.

But with this will always come the problems of keeping the squad collectively happy. Of course, this will always be impossible when there are so many players wanting to play regular first team football.

It’s what they call a good headache for the manager to have. One player who is almost certainly unhappy with his game time this season is striker Olivier Giroud.

The French World Cup striker has dropped down the pecking order as Lampard’s third choice striker behind Timo Werner and Tammy Abraham.

But he could soon find himself the subject of another transfer move from former Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte, now of Inter Milan.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Conte sees Giroud as his number one priority target this January, as he revealed on the Here We Go Podcast today.
