Chelsea set to negotiate contract extension with ‘new leader’ and player who is ‘the future of the club’

Chelsea are off the back of a very impressive run of games in the last handful of matches, and there have been a number of individual players who have really stood up along the way.

The new signings have been superb, with the likes of Thiago Silva and Edouard Mendy being colossal at the back.

But one of Frank Lampard’s old players has been an unsung hero so far this season and is set to be rewarded with a brand new contract extension.

Kurt Zouma has been excellent at the back alongside his new centre back partner Silva, and the two have created a solid defensive unit.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are set to negotiate with Zouma, and Lampard sees him as a ‘new leader.’

Romano was speaking on his Here We Go Podcast this week, and says that Chelsea see Zouma as the future of the club.

Zouma too is more than happy at the club and there is unlikely to be any issues with him signing a new deal.
