Chelsea and Newcastle both set to be a man down for early Saturday clash

The international break tends to affect bigger teams more than smaller ones, but this week it looks like Chelsea and Newcastle are going to take a blow each.

Both have one South American superstar in their ranks who they look likely to have to do without.

Frank Lampard declined to play 36 year old Thiago Silva after the last time he was forced to make a trip to play for Brazil, and we imagine he will do the same this time around, especially given the Blues’ fixture is the early kickoff on Saturday.

Newcastle have a similar dilemma though – Miguel Almiron has played twice for Paraguay already this week, and while he is suspended for the final game of their triple header, he has decided to stay and train with his teammates, according to fan site The Mag.co.uk.

That will be immensely frustrating for Magpies fans, but a boost for Blues.
