Kepa lost his place in goal for Chelsea’s last Premier League game against Crystal Palace, but an injury to Edouard Mendy meant he was back between the sticks tonight.
He didn’t cover himself in glory once again, as a bad backpass from Kurt Zouma left him struggling and Southampton were able to bag their second.
Asked after the game about whether the goalie had the mental strength to return from another error, Lampard said “he will have to be strong enough.”
There is no way around that, especially considering Edouard Mendy is going to miss a week or two more it seems.
