October 14th will always be a huge day in Chelsea’s history.
That was the day that Petr Cech had his accident, colliding with Stephen Hunt’s knee in a game against Reading.
He would go on to recover, and to continue to play for us for many years, but at that moment in time there were very serious concerns about his health.
Those concerns really overshadowed what happened later in the game. His replacement Carlo Cudicini was also then injured, meaning John Terry had to go in goal for the concluding minutes of the game.
