Tammy Abraham and Ben Chilwell both missed England’s game against Wales last night as a coronavirus precaution, having both attended the former’s surprise birthday party last weekend.
The number of people at the gathering exceeded the recommended limits, and both therefore trained separately from the main England squad until they were confirmed as coronavirus negative.
That has now happened, but as manager Gareth Southgate revealed last night that Chilwell has “some illness” – which he described as minor – which has meant he’s still training separately from the other players.
It doesn’t sound serious enough to affect his chances of playing against Southampton next week, but we will keep an eye on it.

🗣 "All three players have tested negatively, Ben has had some illness but we expect Tammy & Jadon to be available"
