Reece James donates £10,000 to food charity as footballers’ wave of generosity goes on

The world is in a bad place right now, and footballers are rallying to help out.

Marcus Rashford of Manchester United has lead the charge in the UK, but Chelsea players are now joining in too.

The Daily Mail today reported that Reece James of Chelsea has donated £10,000 to charity, and intends to raise £100,000 more before his birthday in December.

That’s a superb gesture, and exactly what we’ve come to expect from this latest generation of more socially conscious and generous footballers.

James’ charity drive will aim to deliver 19 million meals by the end of 2020, with £10 providing enough to make 61 meals.

James has been great on the pitch too in recent weeks, picking up man of the match performances for both England and Chelsea.

Let’s hope he can continue his superb progress both with the ball and without it. The rest of the squad will hopefully chip in too, and make a real difference together.
