One crazy Roman Abramovich stat as Chelsea finally play in Russia again

Chelsea are in action in Russia tonight, giving Roman Abramovich a unique opportunity to go and watch his team in action.

He’s been denied a UK visa, giving him serious problems visiting Stamford Bridge at the moment, so drawing a Russian side in the Champions League must have been a huge boon for him.

Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph claimed that this is actually the first game the Chelsea owner has attended since a friendly against RB Salzburg in July 2019 in Austria.

That remains the only Frank Lampard managed game the Russian billionaire has been able to attend so far. Hopefully we will be able to embark on a long European campaign this season that gives him chances to come to more games.

Of course, despite the way he’s treated by the UK government, Abramovich has done incredible work during the coronavirus pandemic, to say nothing of his work for the local area in general, and his ongoing anti-antisemitism campaign.
