“Not a bad lineup” – Some Chelsea fans react to Mason Mount missing out as Lampard switches systems

Chelsea have announced their team for the game against Manchester United this evening, and there are some interesting changes.

The formation switches to a 343, allowing Cesar Azpilicueta to return to the team in a back 3. The man who drops out is Mason Mount, known as one of manager Frank Lampard’s favourite players in the squad.

It’s a ruthless move from the manager, who clearly thinks the tactical tweak is worth the loss of a player he considers important. There’s also an element of tiredness, with Mount, Havertz and Timo Werner all looking like they could do with a break.

Fans on social media were unsure about the move, with the Mount-haters happy to see him out of the team, while others were more positive about the formation change at least.

This front three should be a threat. “Not a bad lineup,” as one quite conservative commenter put it.
