Marco Van Ginkel set for new lease to lowlands

Transfer deadline day is ticking along, and while there doesn’t look to be too much incoming interest for Chelsea, there’s plenty to consider in the “out” tray.

Marco Van Ginkel has spent his whole career in the shadows at Stamford Bridge thanks to unfortunate injuries at inconvenient times, and his endless loans look set to continue.

PSV, where he’s spent several years in the past, are close to signing him on a loan deal for the year, according to the Athletic’s Simon Johnson:

It doesn’t sound too advanced as he puts it, and if the deadline was tonight, they would be serious pressed for time.

But the good news is that Eredivisie teams can sign players until tomorrow evening, explaining the lack of urgency on both sides.

Let’s jus hope this spell goes as well as his previous stays in Eindhoven. When he’s fit, he always looks like a classy player.
