Frank Lampard has just given his press conference after the win over Burnley, and one of the most pressing questions of all was about the health of Christian Pulisic.
The American had been in Lampard’s starting XI until just moments before kick off, when he injured himself in the warmup.
It’s a frustrating moment for Pulisic, who has only just returned to first team action after hurting his hamstring in the FA Cup final in the summer.
Lampard on Pulisic injury: “Christian felt a small sensation in his hamstring. We had to pull him out, as he couldn’t risk playing. We’re not sure on the extent just yet, we will have to scan it and then find out more. He’s frustrated, he’s got himself fit and played and scored..

Lampard played down how severe it is as a “small sensation”, but also explained just how frustrating the setback is for his winger.
It’s also not ideal for the team – Timo Werner went from being rested to playing 90 minutes, and plans will have to change down the line to make up for that.
Still, a big win is a big win, and this injury doesn’t sound as bad as feared. Let’s hope he’s ready for Rennes in midweek.
