Chelsea have a lot of injured players at the moment, but given Frank Lampard gave his last update as recently as Friday afternoon, there wasn’t a huge amount for the media to be updated on in today’s pre-Champions League press conference.
He did get a question about Billy Gilmour however, who’s been out since July with a knee issue.
Lampard says Gilmour is three weeks away from a return, expects him to get minutes with the U23s in his back back to the first team #CFC

The good news is that we won’t have to wait long to see him. Lampard assured the gathered media that it’s now a matter of weeks before he’s back in training, and therefore a first team return isn’t far off either.
The young Scot will play in the U23s as he prepares for first team action, but given the great showings he put in while playing for the senior side last term, we very much doubt he will face much of a battle to get back into Frank’s plans long term.
