Kai Havertz and Timo Werner set for exhausting seasons as appearances pile up

Chelsea fans will have been delighted to see Timo Werner and Kai Havertz both score for Germany last night, but there will be fears about the minutes that the two are racking up already this season.

The pair look set to start every Chelsea league game, as they have done so far, and if they continue to play for Germany in these international triple-headers, they’re going to accumulate a lot of appearances very quickly indeed.

Havertz was at least taken off after 77 minutes, but Werner played the full 90 for Die Mannschaft again, adding to the 360/360 minutes he has for the Blues this season.

Frank Lampard will be counting on both this weekend against Southampton too, and we would put the house on both starting the game against the Saints.

With any luck, we can be several goals to the good late on and can give them a break, but that’s not going to be the case very often this season, and Lampard will have some serious decisions to make as the campaign progresses.
