Time is running out for any more domestic transfers clubs are looking to conclude before today’s 5pm deadline.
Chelsea were one of the clubs who could have, and still might be, quite busy in the final hours, as a number of deals could have been done with lower league clubs taking some of their players on loan.
One player who looks to be stuck at Chelsea and highly unlikely to be playing any games for Frank Lampard, is Danny Drinkwater.
As time ticks on, he looks set to stay at the club, despite some interest from foreign and lower league clubs.
This is according to Matt Law of The Telegraph, who says at current Drinkwater stays at Chelsea, and he is set for a long three months before the window reopens in January.
Despite some tentative interest from the Championship and his willingness to drop down a division or move abroad, it currently looks unlikely Danny Drinkwater will get a move away from Chelsea before 5pm. Could be a long three months ahead for him.

It is a remarkable fall from grace since his £35 million transfer to Chelsea just three years ago, as reported by The BBC at the time.
