Jorginho under pressure as Frank Lampard’s penalty taker after another miss

Jorginho is known as one of the world’s best penalty takers, and he also has one of the most unique techniques when it comes to strikes from the spot.

He’s missed two of his last three though, and the pressure – at least from the media – is on.

His miss today almost looked costly, but the rest of the team rallied, eventually walking away with a 4-0 win despite the setback from the spot. Later in the game, with Jorginho off the pitch, Chelsea earned another spot kick, and Timo Werner stepped up to convert, increasing the pressure on the current taker.

Lampard defender his taker in the post match conference, pointing out his fantastic record.

But he couldn’t help but confess that Chelsea “will discuss” the situation after tonight.

We think it’s likely the manager sticks with the Italy international for now. But the pressure is on the former Napoli man now without doubt, and that can only be bad for his success rate.
