Chelsea face Southampton tomorrow after a busy international break, meaning there were plenty of fitness concerns for Frank Lampard to address in his press conference today.
The Chelsea boss reeled them all off at the top of his presser – and Nizaar Kinsella of Goal.com recorded his explanations on Twitter:
Lampard: "Mendy won't be fit for the match tomorrow, we hope it won't be long. Thiago Silva won't be in the squad because of the travel. Ben Chilwell will be in the squad." Pulisic fit/Ziyech fit but not to start. #CFC

Edouard Mendy will not be fit, frustratingly, after picking up an injury with Senegal.
Thiago Silva is not injured, but Lampard ruled him out after he travelled to South America and back to play for Brazil. Hakim Ziyech is fit to be in the squad, but won’t start.
That’s the bad news, what’s the good news? Well Christian Pulisic is fit and it sounds like he will start. Ben Chilwell, after pulling out of the England squad, also sounds like he’s got a chance of playing.
So it’s not all bad news, but there’s no doubt it’s not going to be a full strength team that faces Saints tomorrow.
