“Edouard Mendy IS in the #CFC squad to face Sevilla” claims reliable journalist

Chelsea take on Sevilla tonight in their first match of the latest Champions League campaign.

The two will meet in the first Group E match at Stamford Bridge this evening, and it is expected to be a tough game for both.

Both teams have started the season with inconsistent results in their respective leagues, but the Champions League is a different ball game entirely.

Chelsea looked to have been missing a new goalkeeper who has become a key player already, Edouard Mendy.

But it now looks like they have managed to get him back, fit, and in the squad for tonight after another disastrous performance from Kepa Arrizabalaga on Saturday.

According to Simon Johnson of The Athletic, “Edouard Mendy IS in the #CFC squad to face Sevilla.”

This is great news and a massive boost for Frank Lampard.

But the desperation to get him back also represents just how poor Kepa has been over the last couple of seasons, and how little they now trust the Spanish keeper, who has zero confidence right now.
