Chelsea still “raw” says Spanish journalist as Blues puzzle to draw against Sevilla

This Chelsea team were young a year ago, and now they’ve added experience to that mix.

They will end up better for it, but in the short term that new influx has affected the chemistry of the team.

They don’t yet look like they’ve had the minutes to generate a solid pattern of play, and the whole XI looks in desperate need of time on the training pitch.

Spanish radio broadcaster Santi Segurola explained on El Transistor his thoughts on the matchup.

He said Chelsea were “raw”, and didn’t impress much, beyond a couple of Kai Havertz moments.

That’s a pretty accurate assessment – we didn’t even think those Havertz moments were very good.

There’s a lot of work to be done in terms of forcing this new abundance of talent into a more solid form.

With matches coming thick and fast now, let’s hope they can shape up for this weekend’s clash with Manchester United.
