Chelsea defender set to be re-integrated back into the first team after talks with Lampard

Chelsea had a rather odd situation at the end of this summers transfer window.

They wound up having three first team left backs, and five first team centre backs in the squad.

They were largely expected to sell or loan out at least one more left back and centre back before the window ended, but for whatever reason, this did not happen.

Now, Frank Lampard is in an awkward situation where he has too many players in his squad to keep happy, and inevitably many will lose morale.

Antonio Rudiger is the centre back to miss out so far this season, with Andreas Christensen, Fikayo Tomori, Thiago Silva, and Kurt Zouma all ahead of him in the pecking order.

However, this could be about to change, according to reports from The Daily Mail, and The Telegraph.

The German international has held positive talks with Lampard, who is ready to re-integrate him back into the first team squad after training well, and showing a good attitude in the group.
