5 Chelsea players Frank Lampard is likely to rest in Russia

Chelsea were handed a decent Champions League group in the end, and a draw against Sevilla in the first game last week has set the Blues up nicely.

Their biggest test in terms of travelling comes this week, as they head to Russia to play Krasnodar. The team are in the air right now, having left this morning for a game that will be played early tomorrow evening.

The amount of travelling the squad has to do means there will inevitably be fatigue among even those who don’t play. But that won’t stop Frank Lampard changing his first team as much as he thinks he can get away with.

We will have to wait for the press conference this evening to see what the boss has in store, but there are a few changes we’re sure he will go with.

We’re sure we’ll see Tammy Abraham come in for Timo Werner, for example, as well as Mason Mount for Kai Havertz after the England midfielder’s rest at the weekend.

At left back, Ben Chilwell will be rested after a punishing run, likely for Marcos Alonso. We also expect a break for N’Golo Kante in midfield, with Mateo Kovacic to come in. Thiago Silva could also get a rest, with Antonio Rudiger or Fikayo Tomori in line to make a first start of the season.
